In the 180 ollie, your skateboard spins 180 degrees with you. If you spin towards the direction you're facing, you're doing a backside 180 ollie, and if you're spinning away from the direction you're facing, you're doing a frontside 180. I know the names are a little confusing.
It's a good idea to roll at a slow speed when first learning how to 180 ollie. After you learn how to 180 ollie, you can combine them with flip tricks to get backside flips, frontside flips, backside heels and fronside heels! 1. Before learning how to 180 ollie, you must know how to ollie! Set up your feet as you would for an ollie. As you step up for the backside180 ollie, wind up your upper body in the opposite direction you want to spin. Have your forward arm cross in front of your body. 2. As you start to pop your board, unwind your upper body and begin to spin 180 degrees in the opposite direction. So just turn your shoulders in the backside direction as you pop the tail. 3. As your front foot drags across the board, spin it 180 degrees in the backside direction to turn the board with you. As you spin 180 degrees in the air, keep your body over your board. Stay centered while you spin in the air. 4. You will land facing the opposite direction, rolling backwards. Be careful not to lean forward or back too much because this will cause the board to shoot out from under you. 5. Bend you knees when you land and ride away! 1. The hardest thing when learning how to 180 ollie is keeping your balance after you pop. As you flip the board, you'll feel a tendency to jump forward, but be sure to just stay over the board. 2. If the board is hitting your legs, be sure to suck up your feet high to give the board some room to spin! 1. Set up your feet like you would for a regular ollie. 2. Slam on the tail of the board with your back foot. As the board rises, suck up your feet and turn your shoulders. Open your hips a little so your chest points toward the front. 3. Once you reach the peak of the ollie (you should be turned 90 degrees), push down with your front foot to guide the board through the rest of the rotation. 4. Bend your legs a little before you land to level it out and prepare for contact with the ground. 5. Ride away smoothly! 1. Practice learning how to frontside 180 ollie rolling at a slow speed. It's tough learning how to frontside 180 ollie stationary! Hope you enjoyed learning how to 180 Ollie!Looking for the perfect "How to 180 Ollie" guide?
